There are many ways to be involved in the KPS P&C!
Activities such as grandparents day, movie night, mother and fathers day are community building events. The main fundraisers have been an annual social event and a skillathon activity.
Here's how you can be involved!
Many parents are very busy, however, you can still help the school through direct donations. Paying the school fees, the P&C levy and giving an extra donation are very important contributions. Thank you!
Come to P&C Meetings
P&C meetings are open to all parents and are held at the school on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Please come along to hear what’s going on in the school, to offer your views on issues affecting the school, to help plan P&C activities and to volunteer for P&C roles!
The canteen currently operates three times a week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Volunteers help from 9.10am-1.30pm, with three volunteers needed per day. In order to cover this roster, one parent from each family would be expected to volunteer once per year.
To volunteer provide your contact details to the canteen manager via this form who will assign you to the roster and provide you with a canteen duty date.
Uniform Shop Volunteers
The uniform shop opens every Thursday afternoon, outside the school office, between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Around two people are required each week to sell items to parents. Ideally, 20 volunteers are needed each term, so that each parent can help at the shop once per term. Currently, 10 parents have volunteered.
To volunteer provide your contact details to the uniform shop manager Jolly Wang via this form who will assign you to the roster.
Parents from each year organise and run one P&C activity each year. Some are fund raising events, others are community building events. Class parents are lead organisers for these events and all families in that year are expected to contribute.
Events are set by the social committee and change from year to year. Please respond to the calls for volunteers that are sent out by class parents about a month before your class event.
Two parents from each class act as class parent leaders, they:
- Organise teacher assistance when required such as reading group helpers,
- Organise and run the year P&C event,
- Welcome new parents,
- Organise park play gatherings,
- Communicate between parents & the P&C.
This is a great way to get to know other families in the school and to directly support the class teacher.
Let the class teacher know that you’d like to volunteer for class parent at the start of year parent information evening held in early February, or just check if the class still needs one.
